Congratulations Natalie Montgomery

A tribute to someone special is in order.

Natalie Montgomery is a very special lady. She has set high goals and she has achieved them. Along her journey she has touched so many lives. She truly is the best friend, nurse and boss I have ever known. My feelings are shared with many. Natalie has a huge heart. She has a gift of accepting nurses for who they are and not wanting to change them. Instead she offers them safe harbor in which they can learn and grow.

Myself and others can only pray that she can find a way to stay. We will be lost without her.

Out of Africa

The Out of Africa series is on hold. Inspiration comes and designs are created. When a pattern stumps me and I develop beaders's block I must move on. That is how the flutterby series was born. Just when you least expect it you find it.

When the caterpillar thinks his life is over, he turns into a beautiful butterfly. This is a thought I sometimes share with dying patients and their families. Please read about Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and the butterflies in concentration camps. Read about them here.

I love Spring and I look forward to all the little flutterbys I know are coming.

One Winged Flutterby

Why?
Because, if you are going to take the time
to do over 3000 stitches
every
single
one
must
be
PERFECT!

Please do not distract the bead weaver.
She will lose her place and have to start all over again!

Brick Stitch Butterflies

Angela Anderson from Arkansas paints gorgeous butterflies. I wish I could do what she does. Amazing!! She does not allow embedding her YouTube videos, so to watch them you can click HERE.

So my goal is turn this painting into a beaded butterfly. Get your brick stitch ready. Sorry peyote your just not stiff enough for this one. Below is a butterfly I beaded years ago from a pattern by Rita Sova.

Preparing to open the Clay Cave

Warm weather is on it's way
and I am preparing
to open the clay cave.

My water garden is alive!

Easter Rabbit Bracelet Odd Count Flat Peyote Stitch

I LOVE Spring!

Robbie beat me by one bunny! I had shopping to do. I'm still working on the video. Man is it tough to video odd count flat peyote stitch with Delicas. I promise. It is coming soon.
I am making carrot beads to use as a closure.
Who knew? I just might start my own line of produce beads!

For now I must celebrate.

Etsy account to open soon!

If Juls can finally get with the times and join Facebook, it is time for me to join Etsy!

Little Easter Bunny Bracelet

I finally got around to beading up this Little Easter Bunny bracelet and
quickly decided I needed to redo the pattern. Urgh!
The grass looked like something that should not be
growing out of the back of a baby bunny.
The blue was too blue and I took off the border. Geez!
Have you ever designed bead patterns?
Here it is now in progress.

Flat Peyote Stitch Video

I finally found the perfect house for my beaded needle cases.

I Love Easter. I really love making Easter baskets.

My Easter bunny bracelet pattern is a hit. Some of you have been asking if I have a flat peyote video. Not yet, but I am working on it. Video taping flat peyote stitch with Delica beads is not easy. I am going to give it a try. Because I have yet to make this Easter bunny bracelet it is going to be my guinea pig!

Her goal is to teach English as a second language.
My goal is to do everything I can to help her achieve it.
I am so proud of her!
